David Nelson and Linda Wright were married June 5, 1965 in Portland, Ore. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 5, 2015. A trip to Hawaii is planned with their son, John and daughter-in-law, Mary, who are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. The couple has lived in Yakima, Wash. since 1966. They are both active at the Tieton Drive Bible Chapel.

Jim and Rose Warner celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 4, 2015. A private dinner was hosted by their children to honor them. They both stay busy in their retirement; Jim volunteers at the Central Washington Agricultural Museum and Rose still enjoys baking her goodies. They have six children: Jim and Donna Warner, Karen and Marvin Beard, Rita and Dwight Wagenmann, Duane and Karri Warner, Jerry Warner, and Cheryl and David Stave. They are also the proud grandparents of nine grandsons and five great-grandchildren: James and Carmen Warner with son Alexander, Nicholas Wagenmann, Ryan and Michelle Beard with sons Levi and Layne, Eric Wagenmann with daughters Amiya and Elyssa, Craig Beard, Jason Warner, Kenny and Alina Warner, Matthew Warner and Ben Warner. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad … We love you!

Bill Whitworth and Mary Cruise were married on June 4, 1955 in a church in Sadours, Ill. Bill and Mary owned and operated Selah Septic Service for 35 years. When they sold to Valley Septic Bill remained working there. The couple has three sons: Roger and Kenneth Whitworth of Selah, Wash. and Danny and Karen of Yakima, Wash. They also have two granddaughters, Danielle and Miranda.

Rick and Sharon (Crockett) Anderson were married on June 19, 1965, and they will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on June 12th, 2015 with a reception at El  Valle restaurant in Sunnyside, Wash. for all their friends and family to join from 5:00-8:00. Rick is a rancher and Sharon is a retired stay-at-home mom. The couple has three children, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Jannah Devine and Henry Vander Houwen were married June 7, 2014 at the beautiful ranch home of friends in Livingston, Mont. A reception was held in Yakima, Wash. in the cherry orchard of Henry’s parents in September.
The bride is the daughter of Terry and Diane Devine of Livingston, Mont. The bridegroom is the son of Ted and Carol Vander Houwen of Yakima, Wash.
The bridal party included Jannah’s maid of honor, Micah Devine, and bridesmaid Jenna Hutchinson. Henry’s best man was John Vander Houwen and groomsman Forest Jensen. Lydia and Naomi Devine were flower girls, Josiah Devine was ring bearer and Lucas and Joanna Devine were ushers. Pastor Ray Pierson officiated the wedding.
Henry and Jannah are graduates of  Whitworth University in Spokane,Wash. They are using their music degrees by serving on the worship team at their church each Sunday. They are currently employed at  Printing for Less in Livingston, Mont.
The couple honeymooned at a treehouse in Bozeman, Mont. and a camping trip in Glacier National Park. They are at home in  Livingston, Mont.

Rhon and Carolyn Raschko of Mabton, Wash. are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Danielle Ann Raschko to Brandon Franklin Zirbel. He is the son of  Neal and Beth Zirbel of Fifield, Wis.
Danielle is a 2014 graduate of EWU and is a substitute teacher in the Spokane School District. Brandon is a Hydraulics Specialist in the USAF at Fairchild Air Force Base.
A spring 2016 wedding is planned.

Eugenio Longoria and Elma Rodriguez were married on June 12, 1955 in General Bravo, Mexico. Together choosing the Yakima Valley as their home they raised five children, Eugene Longoria, Enedelia Gomez, Eddie Longoria, Eloy Longoria, and Clarissa Hutchinson. They have 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. As a family they worshiped at the Buena Community Church. Elma and Eugene are proud of all their children and feel very blessed. The couple retired from the Morrison Fruit Co. after 36 years. The family plans for a celebration of their 60th anniversary at a later date.

Jennifer and Noah both graduated from La Salle High School and both received their AA degrees from YVCC. An August 22, 2015 wedding is planned at St. Paul Cathedral.

Mr. and Mrs. James Sevigny were married on June 14, 1975 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Yakima, Wash. Jim and Pat celebrated their 40th anniversary having dinner with their six children and spouses: Joshua (Stephanie) Sevigny, Joseph (Kerri) Sevigny, Rebecca (Tim) Heneghen, Sara (Patrick) Harris, Rachel (Matthew) Toth, and Jude Sevigny. On Saturday, they enjoyed the day at the pool with their 15 grandchildren: Kyle, Olivia, Sy, Max, Sloan, Paige, Emmett, Eli, Alaina, Bostyn, Lawson, Grayson, Avery, and Weston.

Celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary are Everett and Marjorie Tyler. Marjorie Snider (daughter of Jess and Lois Snider of Seattle) and Everett Tyler (son of Charles and Grace Tyler of Yakima) were married on June 20, 1945 in San Diego CA, where Everett was stationed in the U.S. Navy during WWII. They met while attending Wide Hollow Grade School in Yakima. After grade school, Marjorie moved to Seattle where she attended Lincoln High School. Everett attended Yakima High School before joining the Navy. Later, they returned to Yakima and built a home on Rock Ave., where they lived for several years. At this time, Marjorie worked in the office at Barnes and Woodin Department Store on East Yakima Ave. and Everett attended Perry Trade School where he studied Body and Fender Repair. They later moved to Seattle, where they lived until retirement, after which they traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico with their boat and RV. The Tylers will celebrate in Lynden, Wash. with friends and family at a BBQ on July 19. Ron and Sue (Strausz) Christenson were married on June 13, 1965 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Yakima, Wash.
They lived in Cowiche, Wash. for 33 years where they raised apples and cattle. The couple both graduated from Highland High School and so did all of their kids. After selling the ranch in 1982, Ron was a field rep for several fruit companies for 28 years. Sue was a stay at home mom and later did several clerical jobs such as school secretary and dentist office manager. The couple moved to Yakima, Wash. in 1998. They are both retired and enjoy traveling on tours and with their R.V.
They celebrated on June 6 with a 23 passenger limo outing to Gasperetti’s and around town with all their kids and grandkids. They will also celebrate with a tour to the Cape Cod area in in September.
THe couple has five children, Kim (Jim) Lovelace, Rick Christenson, Erik (Erika) Christenson, Kelli (Chad) Estes, and Phil (Stephanie) Christenson. They also have 10 (soon to be 11) grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.

Adam Jenkins Kirk and Laura Margaret Hammett joined together in marriage on May 16, 2015, in the presence of numerous family members and friends in Monteagle, Tenn. Jeffrey Reynolds of Yakima, Wash., uncle of the bride, officiated.
Adam is from Yakima, Wash. and a graduate of West Valley High School, University of British Columbia and the Monterey Institute of International Studies. He is the son of Dave Kirk and Shelly Jenkins. Laura grew up in Blacksburg, Va. and graduated from St. Paul School in Concord, N.H. and the University of Virginia. She is headed to Yale University for graduate work. She is the daughter of Tom and Lisa Hammett, and sister to Wilson Hammett. Adam and Laura met in the Peace Corps in Albania in 2010. They continue their commitment to Albania through work with Friends of Albania.The couple is at home in San Francisco, Calif.

Sam and Joan Smith of Terrace Heights, Wash. will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary June 21. Married on the shore of Lake Chelan, Wash. at Joan’s parents’ home in 1975, they have lived in Yakima, Wash. ever since. After 32 years teaching middle school in the East Valley School District Sam retired eight years ago. Joan retires this summer from the Yakima School District, having taught primarily 1st grade for 30 years. The couple have two children: Lori (Caleb) of Moxee, Wash. and Sean (Anna) of Aberdeen, Scotland. They are also blessed with two Moxee grandsons, Preston and Jack, with a Scotland grandchild due in early September. The couple is planning a trip to see their third grandchild in late September.

Nathan and Linda (Roberts) Stone were married June 19, 1965 at Holy Redeemer Church in Yakima, Wash. Nathan is retired from Frito-Lay and Linda is retired from the Yakima School District. In their retirement, they enjoy RVing, traveling, cruising and especially attending the Mariners’ spring training in Arizona.They have two sons, Joel (Andrea) Stone of Yakima and Matthew of Spokane, Wash. They have been blessed with two grandsons, Jonathan and Diego. A family celebration will be held. Also a Panama Canal cruise is planned for a later date.

Robert and Naomi met while he was in the Army stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash. They were married June 19, 1955 at the Tacoma Central SDA church. Dr. Kuhns is a retired osteopathic physician. They have lived in Yakima, Wash. for 49 years. Naomi is a retired secretary. They are members of the 35th Ave. Seventh-Day Adventist church. Dr. Kuhns has been on 11 different jungle missions. They were also youth leaders at their church for 11 years. They have two children, Cheryl Vyhmeister of Apopka, Fla. and Susie Bunch Hendersonville of N.C. They also have four grandsons: Aric, Ross, Jimmy and Christian. They spent winter in Arizona and are glad to be home with their friends.

Miranda Leigh Bailey and Benjamin Tylor Haney, together with their families, are pleased to announce their engagement. Miranda is the daughter of Dan Bailey and Jennie Eversole of Yakima. Benjamin is the son of Jim Haney and Lori Haney of Yakima. The future bride and groom both graduated from West Valley High School. Miranda recently earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Washington State University, and is employed as a staff accountant at Alegria & Company, P.S. Benjamin is a foreman at Granite Construction (formerly Superior Asphalt), where he has been employed for 11 years. An August 2015 wedding is planned at Cascade Garden in Yakima.
