Rossignol - 60 years
Raymond Levi and Verna Jean (Davis) Rossignol celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary May 24, 2013.
Ray and “Jean” were married May 24, 1953, at Moses Lake, Washington, where Ray was stationed at Larson Air Force Base.
Although they spent the next seventeen years stationed in London, England; returned to Larson AFB for another tour; Taipei, Taiwan; and Northern New York state, they always considered Moses Lake their home base, where four of their five children were born on Larson AFB.
Ray retired from the USAF in 1968, and they settled in Yakima while Ray finished his teaching degree at Central Washington
State College, commuting on the Canyon Road for a few years, before the completion of the new highway I-82. Five years of
teaching were followed by 20 years as a state auditor, and finally a well-earned, but busy retirement.
Jean has always kept the home fires burning, while being an occasional wage-earner and consummate homemaker. Her talents for sewing, cooking, canning, peacemaker, penny-pincher, and all around wonderful wife and mother are endless.
They have made their home, for the past 40 years, in the house they built in East Selah, giving of their time and talents to their church, family and friends.
Ray and Jean have chosen to celebrate this milestone with a family gathering of their children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, at their home, where many family memories have occurred.
